Overview
CricketStudio (players.cricketstudio.ai) is a citation-grade cricket data publisher. We are committed to being transparent about what limited data we collect and why. Our public data surface has no login, no user accounts, and no paywalls.
The Studio application (/app/studio) requires sign-in for analysts, managers, franchises, and operators. That surface collects the minimum account data needed to authenticate you and remember your preferences.
What we collect
Public site (no account required)
- Server logs — standard web server request logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp, user-agent). Retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging. Not linked to any individual.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 (when configured) to count pageviews and understand which content is useful. GA4 anonymises IP addresses before storage. You can opt out via your browser's Do Not Track setting or a GA opt-out extension.
- Citation telemetry — when pages are cited by AI surfaces (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.), we log the referrer domain and page URL to measure citation reach. No personal data is recorded.
Studio application (sign-in required)
- Account email — used to send you a one-time sign-in code (OTP). We do not store passwords.
- Session token — stored in a secure HTTP-only cookie. Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Cards and drafts you create — stored in our database so your work persists across sessions. You own this content and can request deletion at any time.
- Audit log — actions taken in the Studio (schedule, post, approve) are logged for compliance. Logs are retained for 90 days.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect names, phone numbers, or physical addresses on the public site.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade any data to third parties.
- We do not run advertising networks or third-party tracking pixels.
- We do not build behavioural profiles of individual visitors.
Data sources — cricket statistics
The cricket data we publish comes from three licensed sources:
- Sportmonks — live IPL 2026 ball-by-ball feed (licensed). Subject to Sportmonks' own terms.
- Cricsheet — IPL historical (2007/08–2025) and Major League Cricket ball-by-ball data, published under CC BY 3.0.
- Wikidata / ESPNcricinfo — player bios and IDs, used only to enrich public profiles.
We publish only aggregated statistics. We do not publish personal data about players beyond what is publicly available in match records and official cricket databases.
Cookies
We use the following cookies:
- cs_session — secure session token (Studio users only). HTTP-only, SameSite=Strict. Not readable by JavaScript.
- cs_theme — stores your light/dark theme preference. No personal data. Expires in 1 year.
- _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics cookies (public site only, when GA4 is enabled). Subject to Google's privacy policy.
You can block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Blocking session cookies will prevent Studio sign-in. Blocking GA cookies has no effect on content access.
AI crawlers
Our robots.txt explicitly allows crawling by GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, and other AI retrieval agents. This is intentional — CricketStudio is citation infrastructure designed to be indexed and cited. If you are a model operator and have questions about how we want our content cited, see our citation guide.
Your rights
- Access — you can request a copy of any data we hold about your Studio account.
- Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and all associated cards, drafts, and logs. Email hello@cricketstudio.ai.
- Correction — if you believe a published cricket statistic about you is factually wrong, use our corrections process.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Session tokens use HTTP-only cookies with SameSite=Strict. Our infrastructure runs on AWS (App Runner, ECR, S3) with least-privilege IAM roles. We do not store payment card data — we have no paid-tier billing infrastructure yet.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our data practices change and note the revision date above. For material changes we will notify Studio users by email.
